Document download restrictions for monthly subscribers begins October 1st (top)

New Monthly Subscription restrictions will go into effect for all counties beginning October 1, 2007. The restriction puts a limit on the number of documents that can be downloaded under the monthly subscription plan. After the download limit is reached, additional documents may be downloaded at a charge of $1 for each document.

Why place a document download restriction on monthly subscribers?

A very small number subscribers were performing bulk downloads of documents. This not only affected the performance of Countyrecords.com for other users but it also resulted in a per document price that was not fair to our clients who have made their documents available at Countyrecords.com. Most subscribers do not ever reach the limits that we have set.

What constitutes a "document download"?

A document download is counted as any time you:

If I download the same document twice in the same month, will that count as 2 document downloads?

No. We count only unique instances of the document file that was actually downloaded.

How will invoicing work with these new restrictions?

Invoicing will work in the following fashion.

1. Your monthly subscription fee will be processed on or near the 1st of the month, giving you access to that county for that month. This is the same fee that you have been charged in the past.

2. During the month, you may review the number of documents you have downloaded during the month at any time using the Review Current Bill link in the upper right corner of the screen. This will soon include statistics so you can tell if you are nearing or have reached the document download limit for the month.

3. At the end of the month, any fees for documents over the download limit will be processed. A line item on your invoice will show the total number of documents that were downloaded over and above the limit.

How can I check to see what the limit is for my county?

Search capabilities enhanced for several counties! (top)

As you have seen we have added a number of new counties. We are also working to expand the search capabilities for these new counties to include date range and instrument type search as well as sorting of the search results. So far this has already been done for Bosque, Eastland, Freestone, Hidalgo, Midland, Nacogdoches, Rockwall, Smith, Williamson, and Wise counties. We are working towards getting other counties that do not provide these features upgraded in the near future.
